Buck Bierly

Buck Bierly is the founder and President of MZ BIERLY CONSULTING, INC., a consultancy specializing in improving the top-line revenue of regional and community banks. He spent the early years of his sales career building and managing relationships for a number of information services companies. Then, as a sales and marketing manager, he acquired a reputation as a business development troubleshooter and was frequently assigned to business units that required significant improvement in revenue generation.

In the mid-eighties, Buck began working with sales organizations selling financial services to middle-market companies and small businesses. By the late-eighties he had his own consulting practice, specializing in sales force management issues in the banking industry. Today, he and his team of sales management consultants provide on-going support for more than 25 banks in North America.

He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, a former Adjunct Faculty Member at the Center for Management Development at Rutgers University, a Faculty Member of both the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and the Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle.

Buck is and has been frequent speaker at American Bankers Association, Consumer Bankers Association, and RMA conferences. He has published articles in The Journal of Credit and Risk Management and Commercial Lending Review. His white papers on banking sales and marketing are distributed to over 500 banks each quarter.

Ned Miller

Ned Miller is a Senior Vice President with MZ BIERLY CONSULTING, INC. a consultancy specializing in improving the top-line revenue of regional and community banks. Ned has long history in banking and an extensive consulting background. Today he works with clients throughout North America to improve the sales and sales management processes that generate sustainable top-line growth. Ned is currently working with senior managers, business bankers, commercial lenders and branch managers in 11 regional and community banks.

Before joining MZ BIERLY CONSULTING in a senior role, Ned was the Director of Chapters and Membership for Risk Management Association (RMA), the association of credit, lending and risk management professionals. At RMA he consulted with local chapters on building membership, developed peer-sharing programs for specialized lenders, and built a series of programs to address business development and asset quality issues. The programs he developed included Understanding Your Small Business Customer, Real Estate Fundamentals and Problem Loan Strategies.

Before joining RMA, Ned was a relationship manager and team leader at Citibank and at the Philadelphia National Bank and spent two years with The Richardson Company, delivering sales, sales management and negotiations training to bankers in the U.S., Canada and various countries in Latin America.

He is a graduate of Williams College, where he majored in Spanish and Political Science. Before entering banking, Ned was a teacher and coach at The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

Kevin Strickland

Kevin Strickland is a Senior Vice President with MZ BIERLY CONSULTING, INC. a consultancy specializing in improving the top-line revenue of regional and community banks. Kevin has long history in banking and an extensive consulting background. Today, he works with clients throughout North America to improve the sales and sales management processes that generate sustainable top-line growth. Kevin works with senior managers, business bankers, commercial lenders and branch managers in regional and community banks.

 

Kevin most recently served as Regional President of Business Banking for RBC Centura Bank. There, he was responsible for directing the business-to-business strategies for the Florida market.

 

Before joining MZ BIERLY CONSULTING, Kevin was

a Vice President at Regions Bank in Florida where he was responsible for developing opportunities in the business banking market. At Regions he was consistently a top 5% performer and received numerous awards for his sales performance. Kevin’s well developed sales skills enabled him to build a dominate presence in the not-for-profit sector in Florida resulting in significant low-cost deposit growth in his markets. Many of the initiatives he pioneered are still in place.

 

Kevin has also served as Branch Manager and Head of Indirect Lending at a community bank in Florida .

 

A dynamic, well-regarded consultant, Kevin delivers practical “I’ve been there” how-to’s and coaching to bankers and sales managers throughout North America . A native of Florida , he is a graduate of Florida State University as well as the Florida School of Banking.

Barry Ward

Barry Ward is a Senior Vice President with MZ BIERLY CONSULTING, INC. a consultancy specializing in improving the top-line revenue of regional and community banks. Today he works with clients throughout North America to improve the sales and sales management processes that generate sustainable top-line growth. Barry is currently working with senior managers, business bankers, commercial lenders and branch managers in 5 regional and community banks.

Before joining MZ BIERLY CONSULTING, Barry was a Vice President at RBC Centura Bank where he was responsible for developing opportunities within the small business market. He received numerous awards for his sales performance. Although new to Florida 's West Coast Region, Barry became a top performing Business Banker within one year by effectively utilizing a targeted approach to business development.

Before joining RBC Centura, Barry was the Vice President of Endowment Development for The Able Trust, a Public/Private Foundation located in Tallahassee, Florida . In that capacity, Barry was responsible for establishing relationships with individuals throughout the state of Florida . Barry succeeded by correctly identifying potential donors and developing long-range planning tools to facilitate gifts to the foundation. Before joining The Able Trust, Barry served as a Vice President of Business Banking for AmSouth Bank.

Mickey Moore

 

Mickey Moore is a Senior Vice President with MZ BIERLY CONSULTING, INC. a consultancy specializing in improving the top-line revenue of regional and community banks. Mickey has been a highly successful financial services sales professional for over ten years. As a Vice President/ Branch Manager with AmSouth Bank in Tallahassee , Mickey was a Chairman’s Club winner in 2004 and 2005. His branch consistently exceeded its goals for consumer and business loans, deposits and referrals, winning awards for sales and service and mortgage and home equity loan production. For over two years he assisted in the bank’s on-campus recruitment efforts of Management Associates at Florida State and Florida A&M.

 

Before joining AmSouth Mickey was a Vice President/ Chief Lending Officer at a Florida credit union. He established a proactive sales culture at the credit union that resulted in 15%-20% loan growth in consecutive years. Before that Mickey had been a successful branch sales representative for several consumer finance companies. At US Medical he developed a finance program for elective and cosmetic surgeries that was rolled out nationwide.

 

Mickey is excellent at building and coaching high-performing sales teams. After receiving an award as the top graduate at the 2001 CEO/Executive Bootcamp sponsored by the National Credit Union Association, he was invited back as a guest instructor the following year. A dynamic, engaging presenter, Mickey draws effectively on his real world experience as a salesman, branch leader and business development officer.

 

A graduate of Florida State University, Mickey is active in various groups in Tallahassee, including the American Red Cross, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and Rotary Youth Camp.
